That’s what I love about the VC. You can play those old childhood titles that you may not have played in ages or pick up titles that you always wanted but never got around to getting. Since I’m a bit younger, I’m more of the latter category.
I guess it depends on the group of people. I don’t personally know anybody who’s ever played the (illegal) multiplayer PC version. Most people I know also didn’t like Brawl as much as Melee and generally feel the N64 one was too slow..
What do you mean? Streets of Rage isn’t in the top 10. If you mean the picture of the title screen in the vid, that’s just to help emphasize what the Virtual Console is.
Well it being a great game of its time is a good reason. I loved the first, hated Melee (not really hated just disappointed mainly because controller) and loved Brawl. Brawl has the most features, but I don’t think anyone played SSB as much as the first one. I mean I know a ton of people who played the online multiplayer one on the PC and loved that even a couple years ago.
it has the worst replay value out of the bunch i think because it’s too easy and annoying at times because of the repetitiveness. i think it’s main problem is that other mario games had levels with themes where all the levels in mario world were random and similar. it didn’t flow the same, but i still liked it.
Updated game? You mean another one with newer VC games or Wiiware games? If you mean VC, I don’t think people’s opinions have changed much, even with games like Super Smash Bros. out now. But if you mean Wiiiware, then yeah, that’s definitely a possibility.
Yeah, somehow it didn’t make it. I guess it’s because it had just come out on the Virtual Console at that time of the nominations and so not many people had considered it.

The game at spot number 3? Yes, that is LoZ:ALTTP. Every game in the top 10 is listed in the description.

Battletoads would be awesome if it were to be released on the Wii VC. It’d definitely be #1

Swap streets of rage with Super Metroid and I would like this list.

It sounds like this is a school project, lol. But nice work.

@MattNOYB I know they are, but it is still great.

That’s debatable. It was a great game at the time but Melee and Brawl are generally considered better than the N64 one.

If this video was updated I would definitely put Super Smash Bros. on it. It was just recently released on the Wii Virtual Consle.

Majora’s Mask?
January 25th, 2010 at 1:17 pm
I’m surprised about it not being there too. I’m sure if it was a top 11 or 12 it would be there, but there simply weren’t enough votes for it.

how come super metroid is not on the list
