I ordered mine and don’t know how big it is yet, but i do know that the screen is about 6 inches by 4 inches, and I read in a review on Amazon that the whole thing is about the size of a dvd case or a normal paperback.
Thank you I ordered one, but it doesn’t have a case, and i live in Australia so I can’t order one from Amazon. i don’t want it damaged, so dies anyone know where I can buy one. please help me.
you have to make an amazon account and the account you use on amazon syncs to your kindle. any books you buy using the kindle are paid for using the credit card that is linked to your amazon account.
Hi, very good video from all the ereaders videos I have seen this one is the best so far and believe me every night I just come and search 4 something related, next year I am going to get mine, I just have a question, I just went to the kindle shop and downloaded the softward on my pc, and I noticed that there are some $0.00 books, if I click buy will it charge me 4 the transaction?
RE: Using PDFs The newest version of kindle has native PDF support and older versions can with a firmware update. I think you can add them to the directory or email them to the kindle, either way. I’m so excited to get mine! I wonder if it will work well to read journal articles on (like PDFs from AMJ Botany etc…)
Though there are truly an amazing variety of books out there in Kindle format, it’s a bit of a stretch to say that every book you’d want is available. For instance, I couldn’t find anything by Cory Doctorow. Still, I found such obscure books as “Molecular Ecology” and “Evolutionary Conservation Genetics.” Pretty cool.
Its load time depends on where you are, although im not sure what you consider “slow.” Im not sure if i’d ever carry it in my pocket, as I’ve never felt the need to carry a book that way. A cover should help protect the Kindle, too. Lastly, Text-to-speech is in the “Expiramental” tab on the settings for a reason.

It has a lot of books, and it is cheaper that going to a book store.

Actually, the camera makes it seem bigger. It’s dimensions are 8″ x 5.3″ x 0.36″. Plus, it only weighs 10.2 oz. and is a 1/3 inch thick.
