good machine for what i do i dont require huge upgrades all i use them for is school going online you did a great job making this man thanks you give me a few tips keep these up
Ive upped the ram to 1.5GB and the HDD to a 500GB 7200RPM SATA drive. Photoshop and 720p movies are the most intensive apps and they run smoothly. Windows 7 and future Ubuntus should all run perfectly on this. I upgraded the wireless G to wifi N also bought a 12 cell battery that gives 5-8hrs use. Overall a it’s a faultess machine.
ive owned a dell optiplex gx150 for 6 years as my main computer baught this one from wal mart a couple months back plays youutbe video streams things smoothly runs good knowing me i wont buy another computer for another 10 years so all in all a good pc
As the screen is less than 9″ wide so I had to hold the camera 3″ away to capture the whole image making and focusing difficult. Hopefully the signs and audio helped
XP & Linux performance difference is negligible so go for the OS that best suits your needs. Linux is faster on the SSD system and XP runs better on the HDD. Ive upgraded my HDD to 320GB and have a dual boot with Linux and XP.
Linpus Linux is a very nice flavor of Linux but I’d recommend Xubuntu from Xubuntu org.
720p HD movies run perfectly with the correct software and I’ll do a demo guide soon.

My Aspire One came with 1.0.7, is there any way to upgrade to 1.0.9 and is there any benefit in doing so?

Another good review, would you say it’s better to keep Linux on it or put XP on it instead? I have heard mixed reviews about which option is best?
PS: Any news on the codec/best video settings for HD playback?
